Hi, I’m Chelsie Herje, owner and operator of Salty Roan Bakehouse. I was raised on a dairy farm in Kansas where I grew up baking with my mom. I married Bart Herje and became a mom to four kids, falling in love with homemade bread while baking for my family.
Wanting to bring good quality bread and pastry to the big country, I opened Salty Roan Bakehouse in October of 2017. I attended the San Francisco Baking Institute and learned the art of viennoiserie and artisan bread.
Now in our new Abilene location, I am so excited to share my love of baking with you. See you soon!
